Elgin is a watchmaker that will always hold a special place in my heart.
You see, I never got to meet my Great Grandfather, but I do have his Elgin Small Seconds wrist watch to remember him by!
The Elgin Garfield you see here is very reminiscent to the one I hold near and dear, (and it’s actually a much rarer reference!)
As you inspect the dial, you’re immediately blown away by the precise, angular detailing. You notice the delicately applied indexes, and elegantly simple “ELGIN 19” font... all this from a nearly 70 year old watch!!
Hard to believe what the watchmakers at Elgin were pulling off those many decades ago, but whatever it was… we like it!
